PRIVACY POLICY

Your locker stays yours.

Effective date: July 30, 2026

Summary

Purchase Locker stores your purchase records on your device and syncs them through your own private iCloud account. We do not operate a server that receives your data, we cannot read what is in your iCloud, there is no account to create with us, and there is no advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind.

What the app stores

The product and ownership details you enter (product name, store, price, purchase date, category, serial number, notes, return deadline, warranty expiration), any photos you attach, and your app preferences such as reminder and lock settings.

iCloud sync

Purchase records and their photos sync automatically through CloudKit to the private database of the iCloud account signed in on your device. That data lives in your own iCloud storage, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. Because it is a private CloudKit database, the developer of Purchase Locker has no access to it and cannot read, export, or recover it.

Sync is part of how the app works and is not a separate opt-in. If you sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud Drive for Purchase Locker, the app keeps working with the records stored on that device alone.

Receipt scanning

Receipt scanning uses Apple's Vision framework and runs entirely on your device. No image is uploaded to us or to any third party for recognition. Photos you attach are stored in your record, which means they sync to your private iCloud along with the rest of the record.

Camera and photo library

The app asks for camera access only when you scan a receipt, and for photo library access only when you pick a photo to attach. With iOS's limited photo access, the app can only see the specific photos you choose. It never browses your library on its own.

Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode

If you turn on the app lock, authentication is handled by iOS. The app receives only a success or failure result — it never sees your face data, fingerprint, or passcode.

Backups and sharing

When you choose Export backup, Export photos, or another share action, iOS sends the selected file to the destination you pick. Backup files are plain JSON and are not encrypted by the app; they contain your purchase details and photos, so store and share them securely.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device for upcoming return and warranty deadlines. Nothing is sent through a push server of ours, and we do not receive or store their contents.

Analytics and tracking

Purchase Locker contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no third-party code that collects data. We do not build a profile of you and have nothing to sell or share.

Deleting your data

Deleting a purchase in the app removes it from your device and from your iCloud on your other devices. Privacy → Delete all local data clears every record. Deleting the app removes its local data; to remove the synced copy as well, delete the app's data from iCloud in Settings → your name → iCloud.

Children

Purchase Locker is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
